Hey, I'm trying some new format... it seems we're all starting to enlarge our photos, and Alice (from Arrandon DP) wrote an easily how to do it on Menton DP... So here I am, with a bigger photo! :) thank you thank you!
Yesterday I went to take a walk to Temple of Debod (link to Wikipedia) park, which is a beautiful and peaceful (but also popular) place... I think I'm starting a serie today! this Temple was a Egypt's gift to Spain in the 60's (they said: thank you for your help, take this Temple!). And today is like a haven of peace in the middle of the city.

Aquí ando trasteando, moviendo números HTMLeando jejeje... gracias a los consejos de Alice he conseguido aumentar las fotos... echad un vistazo a los links de arriba si quereís seguir el ejemplo. Así que aquí estoy, con fotos enooormes! Muchísisisisimas gracias Alice! ;)
Ayer fui a dar una vuelta por el Templo de Debod, un parque chulísimo que hay cerca de Plaza España. El día estaba súper agradable y había multitud de turistas... yo parecía otra más ;)
Creo que empezaré una serie de este sitio porque tiene algo mágico... ¿será el toque egipcio? Este templo fue un regalo de Egipto a España en los años 60 y fue traído desde allí pieza por pieza... Hoy en día, el parque es como un oasis en medio de la ciudad.

Ok, yesterday, weather was fine, it was soft and sunny for a while so you can leave the coat at home. Even that, it rained! (you may see a couples of puddles there) But because we're on April it's such a normal thing. And there some saying/proverbs about that... I'll try to translate them:

On April, lots of water... (that sounds bad to me)

Ayer el tiempo fue muy agradable, tanto que se podía dejar el abrigo en casa. Aun así, llovió! (podeís ver los charcos en el camino) Pero como estamos en Abril es algo normal, como queda dicho en algunos refranes.

Playground at the sun

Sunday afternoon in a little park. This playground is close beside a highway (it's on the left, behind the bushes) so it's a little noisy but there is lot of features for kids and they seem to have such a good time there! I think in a few days or weeks, bars also will place terraces in this area... and there is such a great atmosphere.. oh I'm waiting for that!

Domingo por la tarde en un parquecillo. Este "patio" está al ladito de la avenida (a la izquierda, despuésde la fila de arbustos) por lo que es poco tranquilo, pero los niños disfrutan de muchos cachibaches para sus juegos y parecen divertirse por todo lo alto. En unos dáis o pocas semanas los bares de la calle colocarán en esta zona sus terrazas, y la calle se llena de ambiente ¡Qué ganas de que ocurra!

As we can see all around DPB spring is coming soon and days are longer and more sunny now (even today is a grey one), and when you are free it feels so good to take a walk or sit down with a friend in a park to warm up your self.
Who wants to go and spend the day in a shopping centre then?

Ya se va notando la llegada de la primavera, y los días son más largos y cada vez más soleados (aunque hay excepciones, como hoy) y cuando tienes tiempo libre, qué hay mejor que ir a dar una vuelta por el parque o sentarse en un banco al sol
¿Quién quiere meterse en un centro comercial en vez de disfrutar del día?

A Mexican in Madrid

This is something I've just discovered this weekend near my house... It is an sculpture of Lázaro Cárdenas, president of Mexico many years ago (see the link if you want to know more) As I read this man helped spanish people in exilio during our Civil War... Sometimes I wonder how fast time goes by... Maybe it was 60 years ago, and Spain was such a really different place (that's what my grandpas told me!)
Anyway, blue sky, historical person, interesting pose... That's the post for today! ;)

Esto es algo que descubrí este fin de semana cerca de mi casa... Una estatua de Lázaro Cárdenas, presidente de México hace ya unos cuantos años. Según he leído, este hombre ayudó a muchos españoles en el exilio durante la Guerra Civil... Es increíble cómo pasa el tiempo de rápido... Tal vez esto fue hace 60 años, y España era un país realmente muy diferente a lo que es ahora.
Bueno, me centro, cielo azul, personaje histórico, pose interesante... Es la foto de hoy! ;)

Where are you now?

Ok, today it has snowed a lot in Segovia, León, Oviedo... all these cities from the north of Spain. Maybe next week will be Madrid's turn! Here it rained in the morning but then the sun came up and stayed there for a while...
If you ignore this huge buildings behind maybe you can imagine yourself near a river... but the truth is you are in a huge and vibrant city, where at least there are lots of green areas to rest for a while :)

Hoy ha nevado en Segovia, León, Oviedo... Tal vez la semana que viene sea el turno de Madrid! Aquí empezó el día pasado por agua, pero luego el sol salió con fuerza y allí se quedó.
Si ignoras estas torres tan impresionantes tal vez puedas imaginarte cerca de un río o algo así... pero lo cierto es que estás en mitad de una ciudad enorme y viva... eso sí, donde al menos hay muchas zonas verdes en las que descansar y aislarte por un rato! :)

The grandpa and the grandson... I can't but smile while I see this photo, it's so tiny this child :) so cute... Here is so normal grandpas taking care of their grandsons while their parents are at work, even today he'll probably be at child-care-school :)
I miss this time when I was a child, I used to have a lot of fun and everything was so easy... Well, not everything, of course! ;)

El abuelo y el nieto... sólo sonrío cuando veo esta foto... es tan pequeñito, tan mono... Aquí es normal ver a los abuelos cuidar del niesto mientras los padres trabajan, aunque supongo que ahora el niño estará en la guardería.
A veces echo de menos ser pequeña, todo era más divertido y la vida parecía más fácil ¿no? Bueno, cada cosa con su momento :)

In another park

This year Christmas time is very sunny. I love blue sky. Even it's cold out there, you can walk by for a while and feel well. This is a little park in the north of the city. Last year they removed water and put ice so you could skating there.

Este año las Navidades están siendo muy soleadas, aunque hace mucho frío sienta bien darse un paseíto por los parques de la ciudad. El año pasado, vaciaron el agua de esta pequeña piscina (más bien estanque) y colocaron una pista de hielo.

4 towers

And here it is the new Madrid ARENA complex. Where it used to be the Real Madrid' Ciudad Deportiva now there are 4 huge towers which will be the higest buildings of Madrid. I really don't know if i like them because I can see them form anyplace of my neinborhood, think I'm gonna get use to it. Anyway, they're impressionant, aren't they?

Y aquí vemos lo que será el complejo Madrid ARENA. Donde antes estaba la Ciudad Deportiva del Real Madrid, ahora se levantan 4 torres enormes que serán los edificios mas altos de la ciudad. Aun no sé si me gustan porque puedo verlas desde cualquier zona de mi barrio, tendré que acostumbrarme a este nuevo paisaje. De todas formas, hay que admitir que son impresionantes ¿eh?

Hola a todos!!
Estoy muy ilusionada con este nuevo proyecto, espero poder llevarlo como se merece y dar todo lo mejor de mí en estas imágenes! No soy una profesional de la fotografía (ni mucho menos!), simplemente me gusta mirar y de vez en cuando disparar una foto. Tendré que acostumbrarme a llevar la cámara en el bolso!
Quiero agradecer a Carmen todo el apoyo y la disposición que me ha dado para continuar con su blog. Espero no decepcionarte!

Para empezar, algo ligerito, un paseo por el Parque Norte, a media mañana, aprovechando los rayos del sol.
