pure nature

Believe me or not, but I took this photo on downtown Madrid!! Oh... I just love Retiro Park!!

Hey.... I'm very sorry for this HUGE DELAY on posting... I was out of town without internet connection for a couple of days on vacation, and it was impossible for to to go on with this. But now i'm here again and I will try to continue on posting.
How've been you doing? what are you going to do for summer holidays?
I bring you this bunch of roses for my apologies... and the other one just as a witness of my free time... ;)

Gypsy witch

In some centric and crowded places you will find gypsy women who want to read your future for some money. They offer you a little branch of olive to give you lucky. But if you don't accept it (it's not free of course) they give you the evils eye! So believe in spells or not, the best you can do is to avoid them and look to other side! Is there anything similar in your city?

somewhere over the greenbow...

...Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.

Caballero a contraluz

I guess you already know how I like this kind of statue post... And here I am, playing with the sun, the light and General Martínez Campos sculpture in Retiro Park.
It's almost real uh? Have a nice week!

Parece casi real, ¿eh? ¡Feliz semana!

back to the Book Fair

Book Fair is stilll open ( I think until next weekend) and I was there yesterday again, with some friends who write poetry and have made their own magazine called 13Trenes.
Weather was hot (it's June, don't you know that!?) and there were a LOT of people everywhere... so it's ok if you want to take a break and sit down under an umbrella... although I'd rather get lost under some huge tree ;)

Fountain

Detail of the Fallen Angel Fountain base. Can you guess two sparrows in the photo? I only noticed them when I uploaded the photo into my computer!

Fallen Angel

This is such an special statue.
As I've read it's the only one in the world dedicated to the Fallen Angel, Lucifer. It was built in 1877 and then cast in bronze for the Exposition Universelle of Paris (1878). It's located in Retiro Park since 1885.
Apart of religious controversity and double meanings, I really like it. It's powerful indeed. Dramatic. Different. What do you think?

Impresionante. Diferente. ¿Qué opinais?

A booky day!

This morning I went to Retiro Park to the "Feria del Libro" (Book Parade?) that happens every year in this place. It's a great chance to find some rare books, get you favourite book signed by the author or take a walk and see what's going on with new books on sale. Retiro Park is also a very nice place to spend the day... I'll show you more photos this week!
