A smile in heaven

Ouh, I know it's almost Monday but i'm here now! I've just came home from my non-Madrid Sunday.
One of things I don't like of big cities is that there are sooo much light that you barely see some starts. And I love watching starts... but it's impossible for me to take a photo of them.. so here it is, the moon! ;) I like her shape... it reminds me of a picaresque smile!

Ups, sé qué es un poco tarde, pero acabo de llegar a casa! He estado fuera domingueando un poco por la sierra :)
Una de las cosas que no me gustan de las grandes ciudades es que casi no se ven estrellas. Y a mí me encanta mirarlas... pero es complicado/imposible para mí fotografiarlas, así que hice una de la luna! Y no sé qué pensareís vosotros, pero a mí esta me recuerda a una sonrisa pícara... ;)

Miguel Domingo

Yesterday at night, I went to see my friend Miguel Domingo and the "Sunday Morning band" concert in Búho Real music bar. Miguel and I met too may years ago and it has been a wonderful experience to be witness of his evolution. He's a great musician and his awesome (spanish) lyrics are just poetry.
In this photo he's playing with César Valencia, an amazing guitarist with magic fingers. And there is also a bass and a piano player who makes such an incredible atmosphere!
I encourage strongly to visit his website and listen to his music (you can download FREE several songs). Also you can watch them lively on youtube, here's the link for the video list. Now it's your turn, hope you like it, see you tomorrow!

Ayer por la noche fui a ver en concierto a mi amigo Miguel Domingo y la "Sunday Morning band" en la sala Búho Real. Miguel y yo nos conocemos desde hace un montón de años, y ha sido genial ver su imparable evolución. Es un gran músico y su letras son pura poesía.
Aquí sale con César Valencia, un guitarrista alucinante con dedos mágicos. Un bajo y un piano completan sus canciones, llegando a crear una atmósfera increíble!
Yo os recomiendo encarecidamente visitar su web y escuchar su música (puedes descargar varios temas GRATIS) o incluso verlo en directo gracias a youtube, aquí está el link con el índice de los vídeos. Ahora es vuestro turno, espero que os guste, un saludo!

Nightfall in Callao

This is Plaza de Callao from Gran Via street, in downtown. I really like the shape of these buildings and the dark blue sky there. (In the middle you find Carrión building -or Schweppes one- I have showed it to you before). This is a square so alive, and no matter the hour of the day, you won't be bored there! :)

Esta es la Plaza de Callao vista desde la Gran Vía, en el centro. De esta foto me gusta la forma de los edificios frente al cielo azul oscuro (en el medio resalta el edificio Carrión, que ya os lo enseñé antes). Esta es una plaza con mucho ambiente, y da igual la hora, no conseguirás aburrirte por allí! :)

Metrópolis at night

Another night shot I took last wednesday... This is Metrópolis building (here is another photo and more information from a previous post) (Click to compare the night and day!) and I like very much this lighting. What I don't like at all are the huge adverstisments lighted up that you can see at the right. They're there because facades of the building are being restored, I think.

Otra vista nocturna que tomé el miércole pasado. Este es el edificio Metrópolis (link para post antiguo, más información y comparar el día y la noche!). Me gusta mucho cómo está iluminado. Lo que no me gusta tanto son la enromes lonas de anuncio de la derecha. Supongo que estarán restaurando las fachadas y mientras aprovechan.

Alcalá street at night

For today, a really tourist photo from Alcalá. I can't get tired of waking by this street! In the night, all the lighting is gorgeous and make your walking a really great pleasure for the eye.
You can see here The Cibeles fountain (remember it from a previous post?) and in the bottom La puerta de Alcalá, both of them are such an important symbols of the city of Madrid. La Puerta de Alcalá (built in 1778) was used as a gate for the the city walls until 1869. Can you imagine that?

Hoy, una foto turística desde la calle Alcalá. No puedo cansarme de las vistas que ofrece este paseo nocturno. La iluminación es realmente increíble. Podeís ver la Fuente de laCibeles y al fondo la Puerta de Alcalá. Ambos monumentos son símbolos muy importantes para la ciudad de Madrid. La Puerta de Alcalá (construída en 1778) fue usada como una verdadera entrada a la ciduad amurallada hasta 1869 ¿Podeís imaginaros eso?

And suddenly, just around the corner...

Last Saturday during the match (Barça-Madrid), me and a great friend went for a walk and at the end we almost crossed more than a half part of the city... and just around one corner we found this little party in the middle of the street. There was a little band, kids all around and those couples dancing... I really don't know the aim of the party, maybe they were just celebrating a goal because 5 minutes later, the party was over and all of them were back at the restaurant... But it was nice indeed :)

El Sábado por la noche, durante el Barça-Madrid, salí con un amigo de paseo y al final cruzamos algo más de la mitad de la ciudad... y justo detrás de una esquina nos encontramos con esta fiestecilla espontánea en el medio de la calle. Había una banda de músicos, niños por ahi y alguna pareja bailona. Realmente no sé a qué se debía la fiesta, si era alguna celebración de un gol del partido o qué, porque a los 5 minutos recogieron los bártulos y volvieron al restaurante... Pero fue un encuentro curioso :)

Here you can see a somekind of photo inside a disco in Bilbao district...
Because yesterday was a very special day for me... I reached 25 years old and I get my degree in Biochemistry!! It was a nice gift for my birthday as you can imagine ;)
So I had no choice and went out to celebrate it all night long! Even it was very cold, it was a really funny night!

Ayer fue un día muy especial para mí... ¡Cumplí 25 años y me licencié por fin en Bioquímica! Com opodeís imaginar fue un gran regalo por mi cumpleaños ;)
Asi que no tuve elección y salí hasta las tantas a celebrarlo! Aunque hacía muchiiiiísimo frío, fue una noche muy divertida!
