hold her tight

Click on image to enlarge it!
This is an imposing monument dedicated to Hispanity (mmm I don't if that's the right word for Hispanidad) I found near Complutense University. It shows man holding a woman or helping her to get on the horse. I really like it.
In the back it is an inscription where it said it was donated by Dª Rafaela Azcue in the loving memory of his husband D. Gregorio Pumarejo (whom history I don't know) in 1970.
It's next to America museum in Moncloa district.

Dsole, there's a lot of drama in that sculpture. I think it is lovely and you captured it well.

I like this too but actually I like sculptures in general and when it has a horse, its a bonus and with feeling and emotion to the sculpture is even better - I saw a TV show once that said there was a huge sculpture of a horse somewhere in Italy that was a tribute to Leonardo Da Vinci - the story you shared is a great addition to the image

That sculpture is both romantic and sexual, with all the metaphors of lifting up, muscular horses, nude woman.

----------------------------------
http://www.goear.com/listen.php?v=9e4ea4b
----------------------------------

I love the light in your pictures! I think when you have a good angle and good light you can even make a place look better than what it really is. Which is not the case here cause I know Madri is a beautiful city! :-)

That is a nice photograph of a great piece of sculpture. Stone and stainless steel? It looks nice to me.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for commenting about the trucks and how fast do they go you ask me.

They travel along the highway legally, at 65 miles per hour or 104.6 kilometers per hour. They take a long distance to stop.

Personalmente no me gusta mucho.
Saludos ;)

Hi, Dsole, incredible sculpture of the Hispanidad & great catch.
