This jailhouse rocks!

This is an image of the Palacio de Santa Cruz , in the old city centre, the Madrid of the Austrias. The palace has a very interesting history, which you can check here (for the moment, only in Spanish). This beautiful building of the 17th century has been Court Prison, Law Court and, lately, site of the spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs .

And thanks to all the DP family for the warm welcome and the useful tips. You all rock!

And a mackerel sky - is there a Spanish name for that type of cloud formation?

Well Ham, I am not sure about it, but I think we call it "cielo aborregado", literally "sheepish sky". The technical name is "cirrocumulos" (cirrocumulus), if I'm not much mistaken.

Hi Carmen, and a warm welcome to the DP family.

We have had a wonderful Barcelona daily photo for quite a while but we definitely were missing a Madrid Daily Photo!

Good luck on your blog.

The clouds look nice. And I learned two new descriptions for such a scene. I will have to try and "mackerel sky" or "sheepish sky" in the conversation at next party I attend.
